The UNDRF is seeking a research scientist that has a Ph.D. in Virology, or a related Biological Science, with demonstrated research experience in viral assays and/or viral therapeutics-based research. Technical expertise should include in vitro and in vivo models of viral infection, preferably on BSL-3 pathogens such WNV or HPAI; assessing therapeutic antibodies; and molecular engineering. The UND Research Foundation is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Director of Viral Therapeutics that serves as the organizational leader for the development of therapeutic antibodies and vaccines and manages a group of 8-10 scientists and staff. The Director will also be responsible for leading the Center of Excellence in Passive Therapeutics for viral diseases including the advancement of several product candidates with corporate and academic partners.

Applicant must possess a Ph.D. with proven expertise in Virology and Immunology and knowledge of pre-clinical and clinical trials. Candidates must have demonstrated capabilities in leading a research and development team for viral therapeutics in BSL-3/3+ labs and in successful collaborations with the private sector and public institutions.

Education and Training:

• The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. degree in virology, immunology, or a closely-related discipline and a minimum of 7 years of relevant post-doctoral experience including managing a research program/project and involvement in biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) research.
• Preferred candidates will possess a strong publication record, extensive laboratory expertise, excellent problem solving and sound verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Training:

• The successful candidate will have a M.S. or B.S. degree in microbiology, immunology, or a related field.
• Preferential candidates will have at least five years of experience in a biological research laboratory with preference given to a background in virology or immunology, and at least one year of experience with animal models and cell culture techniques.
• The candidate is expected to have experience with common molecular and cellular assays.

Education and Training:

• The successful applicant will have a PhD degree in virology, immunology, or a closely-related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of relevant post-doctoral training, with experience in biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) research preferred.
• Preferred candidates will possess a strong publication record, extensive laboratory expertise, excellent problem solving and sound verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Training:

• The successful candidate will have at least B.S. degree in microbiology, immunology, or a related field.
• Preferential candidates will have at least one year of experience in a biological research laboratory with preference given to a background in virology or immunology, and experience with animal models and cell culture techniques.
